Tender Buttons: Tender Buttons (CBC09) [out of print]

We went to Sweden to record our songs inspired by Gertrude Strin's "Tender Buttons" in a small cabin. The second day our 4-track-recorder broke, so we moved out in the surrounding woods armed with a mini-disc, Tanja's guitar and our collection of small instruments. 2x3"-cdr in handmade cover with lino-print. Original version is out of print, but a revised re-release is comming later this year on foxglove. 10 tracks/34 min.

The Sound Projector (issue 15, 2007) wrote: "These songs are all acoustic, very sweet, simple and endearing: only one of them, 'A Leave', has anything approaching a smidgeon of edginess, discomfort or grit, and might even be mistaken for a post-punk band such as Lilliput going unplugged. For the rest, think of Nico's very earlies pop singles, because even though they have neither the chops or the production values, Tender Buttons seems to live in a world where no musical development after 1966 took place."
