75 Magic Tricks: 75 Magic Tricks (CBC00) [out of print]

Not to be confused with the later incarnations of 75 Magic Tricks, this is a dokumentation of the shortlived Mox All*Star-band playing wasted pop songs that implode into something else, while exploring instruments they really can't play. The disc features accordionist Marc Kellaway, guitarist Tanja Jessen, and vocalist/xylophonist Hemming Zaramella. The music ranges from noise collages to frail guitar improvisation set to lopsided beats; from lo-fi pop songs accompanied by accordion and viola da gamba, to disco-improvisations for melodica and vocals. Dischords are only an illusion. Everything is comprehensible if you listen. 8 Tracks/39 min.
